WHO WE ARE

About HKCCC

The Hare Krishna Community and Cultural Centre (HKCCC) is an ISKCON initiative serving the Sydney community since 2012. We are a warm, inclusive spiritual community open to people of all backgrounds.

Our mission is to share the timeless wisdom of the Vedic scriptures — the Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam — through community programs, festivals, education and devotional service.

We currently operate from West Sydney with programs running weekly, and are actively building a beautiful new temple at Vineyard, NSW — a spiritual home for the entire community.

OUR FOUNDER

Srila Prabhupada

His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada (1896–1977) is the Founder-Acharya of ISKCON. At the age of 69, with just a few dollars and a box of books, he sailed to America and fulfilled his spiritual master’s instruction to spread Krishna consciousness throughout the world.

In just twelve years, he translated over 70 volumes of Vedic literature, established 108 temples worldwide, and initiated thousands of disciples. His books — including the Bhagavad Gita As It Is and the multi-volume Srimad Bhagavatam — remain the definitive editions of these scriptures.
